Can you remember a time when you didn’t have your mobile phone within easy reach? Us neither. We live in a mobile world, and it is changing our behavior. We also live in a social world, and mobile and social seem to go hand in hand like childhood sweethearts.
In our latest report the BoomBox team took a closer look at how mobile is impacting social sharing. We surveyed 1,022 visitors to m.myxer.com on their mobile phones to see what they were sharing, and what social networks they used for sharing, both from their phones and the web. There were a few surprises in our results, including the mobile popularity of Google+ as a platform over the presumably more established Twitter platform.
While Facebook was the most popular social network for sharing, it was interesting to see that Google+ was the second most used social network for sharing images and video, with 10% using it the most for mobile sharing. By comparison, Twitter was only used for sharing images and video the most by 2% of users.
